The Idea

Hagane no Renkinjutsushi


Hagane no Renkinjutsushi, translated as Fullmetal Alchemist and abbreviated as Hagaren or FMA, is an ongoing manga series created by Hiromu Arakawa, serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan. The series inspired a fifty-one episode anime from BONES and a movie sequel, as well as several video games. Winning numerous awards internationally, both the original manga and anime series have enormous fan followings.

Set in the fictional of Amestris, which resembles 20th century Europe, Hagaren follows the Edward and Alphonse Elric and their quest for the Philosopher's Stone.
